i really enjoyed reading GIFTS FROM THE SEA. it is a story about a girl named quilla who is dealing with just resently losing her mother who was very important to her and her father very rarely talks at all. meanwhile devil rock on which they live alone is a very quiet and lone island, but after a scarce storm at sea something washes ashore. To her surprise quilla finds two mattresses tied together and when she unties the rope that had been keeping the mattresses together and what else would she find but a baby girl. they name her ceceallia, cealli for short which means GIFT FROM THE SEA which is how it ties into the tittle!

i have read MS.ROOPY IS LOOPY, and i think it is a very, very funny book. i think i might read it again sometime. if you like humerous books that are part of a series then go to your local or school library and ask about MS.ROOPY IS LOOPY, and other MY WEIRD SCHOOL books. this book is about a boy who hates books, and ms.roopy who is definatly loopy does every thing she can to make him like books. did i mention that ms.roopy is the new cycotic librarian?
